Community & Development

Woodbury County REC understands that to be successful in economic development, we need to have strong partners. Woodbury County REC works closely with community, county, regional, and state development groups to promote economic development in Northwest Iowa.

Economic Development Loans Through Woodbury County REC

Woodbury County REC created a Community/Economic Development Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) in 2014 to improve the quality of life in rural areas by contributing to long-term improvement in the local economy. In cooperation with our partners and through extensive use of the USDA REDLG Program, Woodbury County REC, in a few short years, has provided access to $1.9 million in low-interest loans. These loans assist local communities in providing much needed community training, educational, and medical facilities and programs. These loan funds are also available for new business startups and business expansion projects within rural northwest Iowa.

Bronson Mayer Amick, WCREC Director Ron Steinhoff, Bruce Hanson and members of the regional office of the USDA are pictured celebrating receiving an economic development grant for the construction of the bronson Community Center in 2014.

NIPCO serves as one of Woodbury County REC’s key partners and we collaborate to maximize the assistance we can provide in order to positively impact the area economy.
